u3a

Cranbrook

Live, learn, laugh, exercise and socialise!

In the u3a, people come together for enjoyment, social interaction and interest and to learn, but not for qualifications.

Although u3a stands for `University of the Third Age’, it is not a university.  There are no entry requirements, no exams, no certificates and no age limits.  Anyone can join. There are branches throughout the UK and internationally.

The “Third Age” is the stage of life after full-time work and often after the children have left the nest. It’s your time to explore new interests, rediscover old ones, do things you never had time for and to learn: simply for pleasure.

Cranbrook u3a organises talks, social events, trips and interest groups.  We welcome members from local areas.

Throughout the u3a, the interest groups are run by volunteers. Members bring their skills, knowledge and life experiences to any activity that they choose to take part in.  Groups cover a variety of interests including science, crafting, sports, the theatre and wine appreciation.  See our Groups page to check out what we offer.

Joining is easy - get in touch with the Membership Secretary via the contacts page.

Become a member for less than 50p a week (£20 a year), or less if you belong to another u3a or join mid-year - so why not give it a try?

If you would first like to see how our activities work and what might suit you, check us out; contact a group leader or a committee member, come to a Talk, search this website or explore our Facebook page.

If you would like to become more involved, we can help you set up an interest group, organise an event, or welcome your relevant knowledge and skills to the Committee.
